After some major life changes, and many years off, I'm finally picking up my brushes and pencils again. You may already be familiar with my previous published works in trout stamps, limited edition prints, cover art, or possibly even one of my originals in private and corporate collections.
This time around I want to concentrate on commissioned original works, although I may run small edition giclee prints. My primary focus is the beauty of fish, and the environments they live in.
I also want to take a more personal approach to my art by capturing the inspiration of a memorable fish or day on the water so you can always have it on your wall. So if you happen to catch a beauty, - be it a steelhead, salmon, trout, or even a bonefish. I would be happy to do a Live Release Portrait for you.
All I ask is take the best photo(s) you can without harming a wild fish. Please do not remove the fish from the water, or take excess time posing the fish. I can always add in your favorite rod, adjust positons, alter backgrounds, etc.... That's the beauty of art, - there are no limitations.
Besides offering an alternative to traditional taxidermy or replicas, I would be happy to capture a favorite spot or fishing memory of yours on canvas. Sharing a scene you find personally moving for me to paint would be an honor and I would do my best to capture it with authenticity.
Not my work.
Just a cool pic of a wild river.
Update:
In spite of no updates in a while, just wanted to let anyone visiting know that I am open for business. I have however, been very busy with other aspects of life besides art. My goal is to spend more time on art as I get organized in a new home and marriage. Currently my "studio" is a corner of our bedroom. Fortunately it has decent lighting through a north facing window, but there just isn't space to work on more than one project at once. Hopefully though, I'll have a well lit dedicated room set up later this summer. Also hoping to finish up and post pics of a wild steelhead commission in the next month or so.
